Former Governor of Abia State, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, has described the passing of former Senator representing Benue North West district, Joseph Waku as a sad loss to the country.
Extolling the virtues of the late elder-statesman, Kalu acknowledged Waku’s contributions to nation building in different capacities.
According to the front-line politician , the former legislator was forthright, bold and humble in his lifetime.
In a statement signed by his Special Adviser, Kunle Oyewumi, Kalu commiserated with the government and people of Benue State on the demise of their illustrious son.
He said, “the passing of Senator Joseph Waku is painful.
“He was a firm believer in a just and fair society.
“Senator Waku’s contributions to national discourse were always patriotic.
“He will be remembered for his invaluable input to national discourse.
“Our prayers and thoughts are with the Waku family at this difficult time”
The former governor prayed God to grant the late senator eternal rest and give the Waku family the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.
