Ariwodo greets Sen. Kalu, says Appeal Court victory profit for Abia North
A chieftain of APC in Abia, Chief Ikenna Ariwodo has congratulated the senator representing Abia North senatorial district, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu on his affirmation as the duly elected representative of the district.
He also described Sen. Kalu’s victory as profit for the people of Abia North and the state entirely.
Chief Arowodo, a Japan based business in a congratulatory letter he personally signed said the court verdict is a clear indication that Kalu’s popularity among his people is never in doubt.
He stated that Kalu’s antecedents as a former governor of Abia stands him out as a face of hope for the people at this critical period.
He also appealed to the candidate of the PDP, Sen. Mao Ohuabunwa to accept the decision of the Appeal Court in good fate, saying the interest of the district should be of utmost paramount.
The Appeal Court, Owerri decision on Thursday nullified the ruling of the election petition tribunal which ordered a rerun in the senatorial district.
The court held that Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu’s election is valid, thereby dismissing the prayer of Sen. Ohuabunwa to void the election on ground of irregularities.
