Hon. Chukwu set to disburse education grants to students of his constituency

In furtherance of his continuous education support program, the member representing Bende North Constituency Abia state House of Assembly, Hon. Chijioke Chukwu will this Friday, December 6, 2019 at 12noon commence the disbursement of education grants to students of various public and private schools in Umunna, Bende.
A release signed by the lawmaker’s media aide indicates that the disbursement which will take place at his constituency office in Alayi will be in phases to students of SS2 and SS2 as beneficiaries.
ABN TV gathered that the second batch which will kick start next term as routine grant in line with millenium development goals on access to education.
This cash disbursement is expected to cover their tuition and other materials to aid their study.
Hon. Chukwu had in the past one month commenced the distribution of study materials across secondary schools in Bende North.
The students who have already been selected and shortlisted are also advised to come in their school uniforms along with their parents and guidians.
While emphasizing that no student in Bende North will stay out of the classroom on the account of fees, the Deputy minority leader, Abia State House of Assembly stated that efforts are ongoing to pay the WAEC and NECO fees for indigent students.
