The member representing Umuahia South in the Abia State House of Assembly,Hon. Chijioke Emmanuel Nwachukwu has promised to build an ICT Center in Umuahia South to boost education in his constituency.
Chief Nwachukwu who spoke to Abia Breaking News(ABNews) during the official opening of his constituency office in Ubakala, said that education is the most important need of his people at the moment, the house member who lamented on the poor attention being given to education by successive governments said that he is compiling a bill that will compel the state government to invest more in education so as to improve the life of the people and the society at large.
The Honorable member who said he left his banking career to venture into politics as a result of his passion for his people and lack of effective representation which has led to under development that his people has been facing over the years also said that his relationship with his constituents since he assumed office has been wonderful and he has remained reachable to his constituents.
On the rumour that he intends to decamp to PDP from APGA the party upon which he came to the house. He urged the public to disregard such rumours and that it was a figment of the imagination of those spreading the false hood, when asked on the relationship between the opposition and the majority in the 6th Abia house of assembly.
Hon. Nwachukwu said it has been cordial and they all came to the house to make laws that will improve on the life of the people and not to fight each other, He also described the relationship between the executive and legislature as warm and very encouraging.
He described the leadership of the 6th house of assembly as one that embraces all and sundry despite political party affiliation and said that those spreading the rumour of impeachment of the speaker as enemies of peace.
Hon.Nwachukwu opened a well equipped constituency office at Ubalaka.Unlike other Abia State House of Assembly members who do not have constituency offices , Hon. Chijioke has proven to Umuahia south people that he really wants communicate with them so as to enable him represent them properly.
He promised his constituents of better days ahead and asked them not to relent in their support for the government despite the current economic hardship that the nation is passing through.
The cutting of tape which signaled the official opening of the constituency office was performed by the speaker of the 6th Abia House of Assembly Rt.Hon. Martins Azubuike in attendance were fellow house members including Hon. Ikedi Ezekwesili and many others while the chairman of the occasion was Chief Tony Ukasanya who used the occasion to announce that he had officially joined the all progressive congress (APC)
