The family of the former military president Ibrahim Babangida has given an update on his health condition.
A source close to the family has debunked death rumours saying that Babangida is alive after all
He has said that the former ruler is in Germany, where he went for treatment, and is expected back in country any moment from now.
“I do not know where these rumours are coming from,” the source said.
“It is false.
“This is inhuman.
“We should pray for him, wish him well and not dead.
“We are expecting him in Nigeria any moment from today because he has been in Germany for treatment.”
Meanwhile, everything appeared to be normal in Minna despite the fact that the rumour had gone viral.
Mohammed, Babangida’s son, was seen at the EL-AMIN International school where he picked up his children from school around 1pm on June 6.
He, however, did not speak to the reporters as he seemed not to be aware of the rumour.
The son of former head of state earlier confirmed the illness of his father. He stated that Babangida is still recovering after a corrective surgery recently as a result of radiculopathy disease.
