Players and officials of Abs FC Ilorin (ABS), Ilorin FC on Friday smiled to the banks as they received all entitlements including bonuses, salaries and allowances owed them in 2016 up till date.
The joyous players and officials who stormed the club’s office were grateful to the Club’s Proprietor Sen. Bukola Saraki, the Chairman Mr. Seni Saraki and the management for releasing the money.
Captain of the team, Abdulquadri Bolaji, said the receipt of the money will be a morale boaster to win the Sunday week nine Nigeria National League (NNL) tie against Crown FC of Ogbomoso.
“We are delighted this is coming at this time, this will surely go a long way to motivate us in the remaining games in the season.
“The management has made statement that they are serious about our welfare and we will pay them back by gaining promotion.
“We (players), are going to put heads together to redouble our effort in ensuring we play in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) next season” Abdulkadir said.
Also reacting to the development, the Club’s Director of Football, Alloy Chukwuemeka said it is part of the vision of the club boss, Mr. Seni Saraki, to ensure that all contractual agreements with players and coaches are fully paid to enhance efficiency.
He expressed the hope that the payment will ensure the players and the technical crew show more commitments on the field of play to put smile on the face of Kwara football fans.
Chukwuemeka added that the Club Boss has put machinery in place for commencement of payment of previous arrears owed the club starting from next week.
He explained that the payment will be based on negotiable instalment.
