Pinnick's NFF have failed the nation in a big way – Ezeugo

Former international, Emeka Ezeugo, has said the board of the Nigeria Football Federation led by Mr. Amaju Pinnick has failed Nigerians in a big way.

Ezeugo noted that it was so bad that the Amaju Pinnick-led board has had little or no impact on the country’s football and the overall development of the game. He wondered why the visit of FIFA President should affect the overall operations of the secretariat of the federation.

The ex-Eagles midfielder said: “few days to that visit, nothing was working and that was how we lost the ticket to play at the U-20 Africa Nations Cup. This same regime has made up to miss two editions of the Africa Nations Cup back-to-back.

“Sad enough, they are not showing remorse, rather they are ready to record more poor results for football. We cannot continue this way. If they are honourable enough, those in the Glass House should resign and allow others do the job” Ezeugo led some youths to protest with placards at the entrance of the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja earlier in the week during the visit of FIFA President, Gianni Infantino.

Asked to justify why he did that, he said, “I just had to do that because the FIFA President should know that all is not well here. All the Amaju Pinnick board has been doing is to legitimise illegality. All we see is gloom. To name a coach is a problem and the welfare of players are not being taken care of.

Asked how do the nation start recording good results, the celebrated defender said: “it is time for people with expertise to take over the running of the game in the country. Those running our football are killing the spirit of the youths,” he added.

Ezeugo narrated his experience with a domestic league team, the Abia Warriors of Umuahia “I was being owed and had to leave. I have taken the matter to FIFA. We must learn to do things properly” the former defender quipped.
