The traders said they have faced untold suffering and hardship in the hands of Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu while their means of livelihood is being endangered daily by over taxation, harassment, intimidation by government officials in the name of revenue task force, insecurity and infrastructural decay within and around the markets.
The organiser of the PRAY FOR ABIA GROUP evangelist Max Nwoke a trader in Ahia Ohuru market said that Dr. Ikpeazu is intentionally punishing them for not voting for him during the elections and that he is making good his threat of ensuring that he frustrates traders and residents who were threatened with all manner of evil actions including killing and dropping of Coffins around all major roundabouts and markets during the 2015 elections.
The prayer which has been going on across major markets and motor parks in Aba has as it’s theme THE EGYPTIANS YOU SEE YODAY, YOU WILL SEE NO MORE, and will be held every morning before the start of business until the determination of the matter of the matter by the Supreme Court. they said the government of Dr. Ikpeazu had through a conscious design impoverished the Aba traders and residents by ensuring that all major entrances in and out of the markets are rendered impassable and inaccessible by customers, He also lamented that all those who came to patronise them in the past have all diverted to Onitsha and other neighbouring markets to make purchases.
They prayed to God to deliver them from the hands of Dr. Ikpeazu by ensuring that the Supreme Court delivers judgment in favour of Dr. Ogah whom the traders said they willingly gave their support and confidence.
