Super Eagles of Nigeria and Manchester City’s teenage forward, Kelechi Iheancho was delighted with his goal in the Manchester derby and described it as “dream come true”.
Iheanacho starting in place of the suspended Sergio Aguero provided an assist for Kevin de Bruyne to score City’s first goal before the latter turned provider via his shot that came off the post with the ball falling kindly for Iheanacho to tap home the rebound into the net for his sides second of the match.
He said: “It means a whole lot to me, it’s a dream come true to play in the Manchester derby and score the winning goal. My team really worked hard. Being in the right place at the tight time. I didn’t think the shot would hit the post but I’m happy it came to me.”
United pulled a goal back through Zlatan Ibrahimovic to reduced the deficit to 2-1 but couldn’t find a second goal to ensure the match ends in a draw.
The win sees Iheanacho’s Manchester City side maintain their perfect start to the English Premier League this season with their fourth straight victory.
