A Lagos based Lawyer who was supposed to have his case at National the Industry court today informed News men that, he was disappointed to see that the court could sit, only to be told that judges are solidarity strike over their colleagues arrest by the DSS.
The source said it is a bad. omen. We can safely infer that the strike is meant to tell the FG not to deal with their allegedly corrupt colleagues as appropriate and perhaps shield the remaining colleagues from arrest and prosecution.
Meanwhile, the DSS had, in what it called a sting operation, arrested Sylvester Ngwuta and Inyang Okoro, both of the Supreme Court; the suspended Presiding Justice of the Court of Appeal, Ilorin Division, Justice Mohammed Tsamiya; Justice Kabiru Auta of the Kano State High Court and Justice Adeniyi Ademola of the Federal High Court, Abuja.
Other arrested were a former Chief Judge of Enugu State, Justice I. A. Umezulike, and Muazu Pindiga of the Federal High Court, Gombe Division.
NJC is expected to make pronouncement on the position of the body regarding the arrest of the High Court judges today
