I’m becoming to feel that President Buhari was not prepared for the 2015 victory.
As it relates to the $30b loan, it’s like a man whose house was on fire and while the fire is razing he shouted at his wife who is inside the inferno ” Please dear I’m coming, let me first deliver a mantle to Ibrahim in the next village”.
However his family was saved by passersby but not before the lose of some members of the family to the inferno. The man came home later with some fire fighters after the destruction has completed. Would you expect such a wife and family to be loyal to the man?
PMB attempt at loans is belated. I know as a matter of fact that even if the president gets the approvals today the money is not readily available. It will take a process and time. Democracy is time lagged. Those who won elections are assessed by the public every second, munites, hours, days, weeks, months and years. So far the assessment of PMB to my mind is poor especially on the economy and management of his political party APC. Moreso this is excused in his inability to carry his real ardent followers along, the lose of whom I foresees an imminent bumerang.
Democracies as an art is a function of humans whom you have a common thinking, the collective aggregation of those thinkings builds the following which is the life and bloods of successful democracies.
To be for nobody and expect everybody to follow you to my mind is a pure deviation and an aberration from the norms of political relevancy. Knowing full well that the political relevance of others is greatly dependent on you as the president from our party. To say the least PMB derailed in presenting the loan application to the parliament essentially considering what we have been told about recoveries from looters, revenue from subsidy removals, revenues from customs and taxes. In responsible climes, as in PMB presentation of proposed Loans seeking approval from the NASS, I did expect his staffs who are supposedly employed to do the job to cross the ts and dot the i. It is gravely unfortunate that everybody abdicated their duties for reasons best known to them only to embarrass the nation and nobody is been sacked.
In the height of campaigns for PMB I remember a very senior uncle who quietly gave me an advice that I’ll be disappointed and that the vibrancy we anticipated was from Iate Idiagbon. Two years going now, I’m tempted to revisit that advice otherwise why is that all PMB presentations are always flawed either from within or without.
While we still wait in hopes that PMB will redeem himself, let him be informed that he must approach all aspects of his life and his government in the manner of Mr Integrity that we know him for. Otherwise the hawks are waiting to devour our cacarsses even by association.
