Abia State share of Paris Club returned fund has be squandered by Okezie Ikpeazu and his commissioner of works, Hon Eziuche Ubani on fictitious contract, yet Abia workers have not be paid for 10 Months.
If Governor Okezie Ikpeazu is sincere and kind hearted as his Supporters are portraying him to be, what stops him from paying workers salaries of ten months after receiving over 70 billion Naira from Paris Club fund and over 3 billion from Federal allocation. It is clear that Ikpeazu’s led government is full of pretenses, eye services and favoritism.
For instance, all the so called “less than 2 km” roads which Okezie Ikpeazu claimed to have constructed in Aba since he came into power are mainly roads leading to the houses of his Mistresses or Girlfriends, or roads leading to the house of the girlfriends of his major Commissioners. Just mention any of the roads done by Okezie, you will be told whose girlfriend or side chick is living there. He even abandoned his village road leaving his people to be suffering on the bad roads. Even the Churches and communities he promised heaven on earth, has not gotten anything from him. Some of them he promised his first month salary, pledged 1 million and 5 million, he only ended up deceiving them and playing with their emotions.
There is an adage that says ” No matter how beautiful a casket is, what is inside must be rotten”. Another adage said ” No matter how beautiful a casket is, no one will like to accept it as a gift”.
This adage is synonymous with Okezie Ikpeazu and his Satroco building demolitions. The truth remains that no matter how Ikpeazu pretends, nothing good can come out of his government even if you give them 100 years. Ikpeazu and his team have nothing good to offer Abians except deceptions and lootings of the treasury.
Ndi Abia should know that the Paris Club fund has been squandered by Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu and his Commissioner of works Hon. Eziuche Ubani on fictitious contracts, yet workers are groaning, praying for God’s intervention, and wishing the Supreme Court help Abians by removing Ikpeazu.
Despite the instruction of President Buhari for the state workers to be paid and his fight against corruption, Some of the PDP Local government election aspirants are boasting that the Governor with the help of his Godfather has already arranged 17 Million US Dollars to be used for obtaining judgement for upcoming Pre-election matter at the Supreme Court.
Ikpeazu and his Commissioner of Works, Eziuche Ubani told Abians in a Radio Interaction Program that they mobilized Setraco with two Billion Naira since June to construct Faulks Road but after six months of payment, the said construction company started demolition of buildings as if they are really ready to do any work. Come to think of it, this is not the first time Abians are witnessing this kind of demolition without road construction.
Since 19 months ago, Ikpeazu and his “chere-were” contractors have demolished Ibere Road, Ohanku, Ngwa Road near good morning market, Aba Owerri Road, Ohazu Road to Ozuomba Road by Ngwo Ngwa, still the roads have not not been constructed. They ended up worsening the condition of the roads.
The truth is that Gov Ikpeazu is an inept and insincere Governor. He keeps demolishing buildings without constructing the roads, pretending that there is no money. This attempt or demolition they are doing at Faulks Road is to give reasons of squandering over 70 Billion Naira Abia received from Paris Club returned fund.
Any sensible and sincere government should know that as Christmas is around the corner, her Workers should be paid to enable them have food on their tables like other families. Ikpeazu doesn’t care, even when he came from a Civil Service family and should have known what it entails to work without being paid. Ikpeazu should have known that Abia workers have children who will need Christmas Clothes, Shoes and Transport fare to travel to their Villages. They would need to eat Christmas Chickens, rice and Goats. But in the case of Ikpeazu, he is very comfortable of enjoying himself with his family and leaving Abia workers to die in hunger even when he recently received over 70 Billion Naira from Paris Club funds. This will be a wickedness on his part if Abia workers should go home this Christmas without their Salaries. This time around it is not the issue of there is no money but the Governor has either diverted the funds, does not value their Workers or that Okezie is not willing to pay them.
By the grace of God, Abians will rejoice and once Uche Ogah becomes the Governor of Abia State, if the judgement at supreme court favors him, Abia workers will start receiving their Salaries as at when due.
