Abia State All Progressives Party (APC) chieftain and the Member representing Isiala Ngwa North State Constituency, Rt. Hon. Martins Azubuike has charged Nigerians to always do things that would ensure harmony and peaceful coexistence as our nation advances in her democracy.
He equally enjoined all to support President Muhammadu Buhari in his avowed quest to put in place institutions that would ensure that our full socioeconomic potentials as a nation are realised, perpetuated as well as safeguard all our democratic ethos.
In his goodwill message to mark the 2018 democracy day, the former Speaker Abia House of Assembly acknowledged that, despite the challenges facing the country, the President Buhari led administration has recorded positive strides that when sustained would see Nigeria leapfrog from it’s current position to become one of the best in the committee of Nations.
The Abia State Governorship aspirant under the platform of APC, admonished Nigerians to always reflect soberly during transit periods in life and likened our present situation as that of the Israelites Who nearly lost their patience on their way to the promised land.
He added that, the Federal Government anchored it’s policy mainly on three critical areas of Corruption, Security and the Economy, stressing that the APC led administration is tackling corruption at all levels, security agencies are recording huge successes on Boko Haram and other insurgencies. He however, urged them to intensify effort at stopping the lingering herdsmen/farmers frequent clashes leading to senseless loss of lives.
Rt. Hon. Azubuike applauded the fiscal policy of the Federal Government which has yielded positive results. They include, the TSA(Treasury single account), whistle blowing policy etc. The social investment programs have in no small way created wealth and businesses, generated employment and guaranteed skills and they are; GEEP, N -POWER, conditional cash transfer, school feeding program etc. The investments in Agriculture is already leading to food sufficiency and less import dependent. Massive roads and railway infrastructural development are on top speed all over the nation and the huge external reserve of about $50B. He enjoined all Nigerians to be steadfast and committed to nation building.
