A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief Nyerere Ayim says the party has provided a level playing field for every aspirant vying for any elective position.
Speaking on the sidelines of Lady Uwaoma Nwokonneya’s declaration of intention to represent Isiala Ngwa North and South federal constituency, Ayim insisted that there are no anointed candidates in the party.
According to the party chieftain, “the APC provides a level playing field to all the candidates. Our gathering here today is support for APC and whatever comes from APC.
Any candidate that is coming out to declare too, we must go there to give the person support too, but one thing I’m assuring you, we’ll give all the candidates a level playing field, because there’s no anointed candidate.”
He spoke glowingly of Lady Uwaoma Nwokonneya as well as other women who are desirous of seeking elective positions in the state.
“Highly impressive, she came with a vision and that’s what matters most, you heard her presentation, you’ve seen what she’s already doing, because you cannot give what you don’t have. She’s going to the federal House by God’s grace, with a vision and a mission to ameliorate the sufferings of her people, and from what we can see here, she has the support and by God’s grace she will be there.
For the first time, especially within this area you see the sensitization, the zeal with which women are coming out to vye for one position keep the other. We’ve seen women from others zones who have shown eagerness to represent at the federal and state houses of Assembly as the case may be.
The zeal with which they are coming out now portends something better and greater for our democracy,” Chief Ayim explained.
