The Chairman of APC in Abia State Hon. Donatus Nwamkpa has said the party has the most qualified candidates who have the capacity to take Abia where it belongs to.
Speaking with journalists in Umuahia, Hon. Nwamkpa who described APC as the fastest growing political party in Abia said the party has given Abians candidates whom they are confident in. “As a party we have given Abians candidates they cannot think otherwise. We have the most preferred, transformative intended leadership team that is going to take over government in Abia state. They will take Abia to where it belongs. Abians can no longer take the lackluster attitude administration of the day.
“Abia deserves transformative leadership and today in the selection of our choice of candidates from the senate to the State Assembly so that we will have an Assembly that will be firm to the principles of checks and balances, enforce the principle of separation of powers. That’s what we will do. We’re not going to have committee of friends as House of Assembly members.
“We will have those that will make laws that will take this state to a higher level. Those who will stand when the Executive is not behaving in conformity with the wishes of the people. This party will not be used as instrument of intimidation of the legislature. The legislature will enjoy their autonomy and perform their oversight functions to take Abia to a higher level” Hon. Nwamkpa said.
He maintained that the government of APC has not neglected the South East region but admitted there are some issues with appointments which are being addressed. He vowed that the region will not go back to PDP, describing it as a misnomer and misconception.
He said the PDP has not won a genuine election in the South East but through manipulation of the process with the assistance of security agencies and electoral body. He expressed optimism that with mechanism in place, the era of electoral fraud is gone.
