…Heartland Construction Company mobilized for Umuahia-Bende-Arochukwu road.
Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, former governor of Abia state and All Progressives Congress, APC chieftain, says all the standard roads constructed across Abia state are done by the federal government.
In a chat with journalists in his Igbere hometown, Kalu boasted that he can challenge the state government to a national debate on it.
The former governor noted that president Buhari is committed to the welfare of Nigerians especially people of the South East as seen in the construction of roads in the region.
“President Buhairi is committed to the welfare of Nigerians. He’s a lover of the masses.
“The people believe in what I’m preaching about the APC. PMB has given roads to almost all parts of Abia North. All these are APC government driven.
“He has given roads to Ugwueke, Nkpa, Ozuitem, Item, Abiriba, Ututu, Ezeukwu discussion is ongoing as we speak for the award of road from Acha to Afikpo so why can’t they vote for him?
“Even where Mao lives, it was NDDC through president Buhari that did the job. It’s not Mao. If we had said no, the job would not have been done. We just wanted to tell him that a senator is suppose to go on a tarred road since he cannot do it, and since the state government cannot do it. It was a bazaar that we gave to him. We approved that the road be done. Just to tell him that this is the quality of governance that APC government gives.
“You can see that Heartland Construction Company is coming to Umuahia-Bende-Arochukwu road. They are mobilizing there and will do the work, given by the federal government of Nigeria through APC government which we influenced.
“So any senator or member of the house claiming he did the road it is not true. Fashola is there, I can arrange an interview with him so you confirm what transpired how much pressure he got from us to the president to award the road.
“So all the roads you see being constructed in Abia state today that are visible and those where work are going on are done by the federal government of Nigeria.
“Go to World Bank, all the roads there were tarred by the NDDC, go to Aba, where you see serious construction ongoing are done by the NDDC. I can challenge them in national TV. Even the roads I built, they cannot maintain it. That’s how bad it’s been. They have nothing to offer” Kalu’s explained.
