The Executive Director, Centre For Public Health, Dr. Cfine Okorochukwu, explained that Friday clinics are dedicated specially to the senior citizens, where special attention will be paid to them and adequate treatment given.
According to Dr. Okorochukwu, “many pensioners in Nigeria have suffered so much and many have died due to non-payment of their pensions for more than two years.
The high inflation rate and harsh economic state of the country has also taken a toll on them, hence, most of the pensioners cannot afford their medical treatments especially those living with hypertension and diabetes.
Based on the foregoing, the Centre For Public Health is adopting all the pensioners who cannot afford their treatment/medication to come and access their drugs at no cost. We also support children, women and pregnant women.“
