The former minister of Labour, Dr. Emeka Wogu has congratulated the former governor of Abia state, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu on the receipt of his certificate of return from the electoral umpire, INEC in Abuja on Thursday.
Speaking with ABN TV in shortly after the ceremony, the former local government boss described Kalu as pre-eminently qualified. “Among the people who are senators-elect, he is pre-eminently qualified in terms of ranking. This is because in 1992, I recall I was the local government chairman of Aba South, he was a member Federal House of Representative. He served as the chairman Appropriation Committee, so that makes him pre-eminently qualified more than most of the senators-elect coming from the South East and among the other people from other zones.
“I served as the Special Adviser (Political) to him for six month, beginning from the day he was sworn in. There were very few of us then and he nominated me as the federal commissioner representing Abia in Revenue Mobilisation And Fiscal Commission” he said.
Chief Wogu expressed satisfaction with the reunion of the former governor with this former subordinates, Sen. Enyinnaya Abaribe who was his deputy as a governor and Sen. T.A Orji who was his Chief of Staff. He described it as interesting, saying it is a competition of what Abia story should be. He said the former governor is a leader among the senators, describing him as first among equals and the boss.
