An official of Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) Umuahia branch, Kenneth Elechi Nwachi has narrowly escaped death in a ghastly road accident that occurred on his way to Aba.
The accident took place along Aba/Umuahia expressway after Tonimas company had his vehicle shattered beyond repair.
Narrating his ordeal to ABN TV on Monday, Mr. Nwachi said the accident occurred when he had a head-on collision with a lorry, popularly known as 911 coming from Aba.
He explained that while he was driving, the driver of the lorry in an attempt to dodge a pothole swerved his hand to his (Nwachi‘s) direction, while he also swerved his hand to the direction of the lorry while dodging a pothole, causing a head-on collision.
He said he saw himself trapped in the airbag immediately after the crash, while the car was totally enveloped in smoke.
Nwachi who sustained a minor injury expressed gratitude to God for saving his life in the accident which he said could have claimed his life if not for God’s mercy.
He called on road users to be observant and watchful of other motorists, appealing for caution.
