The Abia State Elections Petition Tribunal sitting in Umuahia on Monday 27th May, 2019 dismissed the petition brought before it by Nnamdi Iro Oji against the PDP House of Representatives candidate in the 2019 election, Hon. Uko Nkole.
The court adjourned to June 1, 2019 for Hon. Uko Nkole to address the court on the sustainability of the petition in the absence of the second and third respondent who are necessary party in an election petition.
Also, in the case between Ibe Okwara Osonwa of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and Hon. Uko Nkole of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the court dismissed the petition against the third respondent (INEC) while the court also adjourned to June 1, 2019 to address the sustainability of the petition in the absence of third respondent who is also a necessary party in an election tribunal.
