The APC governorship flag bearer in the 2019 gubernatorial election in Abia, Dr Uche Ogah has hailed the senator representing Abia North Senatorial District, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu on his emergence as the Chief Whip of Nigerian Senate.
Dr. Ogah in a release Tuesday evening to felicitate with the former Abia governor described him as a politician of note, stating that he will do the region proud with his new office.
“Kalu has a track record both as an entrepreneur and a politician. He has left a remarkable footprint as a former governor and a key economic play in the West Africa sub-region”.
He also expressed optimism that a brighter future awaits Abia despite challenges it has been confronted with, urging the people not to give up in their expectation for better days.
Similarly, the oil and gas expert also extended his congratulatory message to Sen. Enyinnaya Abaribe on his emergence as the Minority Leader of the 9th Senate.
He described the senator as a great son Abians are proud of, saying Abaribe will use his rich legislative experience to enhance the living standard of the people of Abia South and the state in general.
“Sen. Abaribe, is a progressive politician and I have no doubt that irrespective of political affinity, we will all work together for the common good of our dear state.
“This is the birth of a new era in the history of the people of Abia State and indeed the Southeast region. We will have a thousand and one reasons to be grateful for the appointment of Sen. Kalu and Sen. Abaribe as Principal Officers of the 9th Senate. It also goes a long way to puncture the insinuation that South East region has been left out of power sharing table” Ogah emphasised.
