Following the announcement of Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu as the Chief Whip of Nigerian Senate by the leadership on the upper legislative chamber on Tuesday, legion of congratulatory messages have come the way of the former governor.
The latest is coming from the CEO, Swiss Hotel, Port Harcourt, Chief Dan Okeke.
In a release to felicitate with Sen. Kalu, the Senator representing Abia North Senatorial District, Chief Okeke described Kalu as the eye of Ndigbo, saying it is appointment well deserved.
“This appointment is one any well meaning son and daughter of Igbo must be happy about. It will give the region full incorporation into the running of affairs of the country and bring a total turnaround across Igbo land in terms of accelerated development and infrastructure renewal.
“He will be our eye to seeing light at the end of the tunnel. His presence as a principal officer of the Senate will bring a close proximity to the Federal government for Ndigbo, which we can use to further bergain for more appointments” he said.
Chief Okeke who was recently honoured as the Ambassador of Christ by Presbyterian Church of Nigeria Solid Rock Parish in Umuahia said the appointment of Kalu into an influential position in the 9th National Assembly couldn’t have come at a better time than now, saying it will engender sense of belonging in the South East region.
The entrepreneur called on the federal government to also consider sons and daughters of Abia State in the formulation of the Federal Executive Council billed to take place this month.
