Mascot Kalu advises supporters to be optimistic as tribunal continues hearing

Abia State election petition tribunal sitting in Umuahia on Tuesday continued hearing on the suit instituted by Mascot Uzor Kalu of APC challenging the victory of Ossy Chinedu Prestige of APGA for Aba North/South federal constituency of Abia State.

INEC had certified Hon. Prestige the winner of the federal House of Representatives election held in February and issued him a certificate of return.

Speaking to ABN TV after the court session, the petitioner, Mascot Uzor Kalu expressed regret that a vital document was rejected by the tribunal but insisted that he is sure of victory.

So far so good, even though there is a vital document that was rejected to be tendered, our result is already tendered and we have confidence in the judiciary and we will continue to push with the judiciary until we get our mandate back” he said.

On his advise to his supporters, he said “continue to be steadfast and have patience. I will fight this fight to the end and see justice is done. We hope that the true result will be called and we have shown prove that election was called before collation was completed. A little set back but it’s not enough to distort the case. My expectation is victory.”
