The member representing Bende North constituency, Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Chijioke Chukwu has berated the former senator representing Abia North, Sen. Mao Ohuabunwa for taking an inspection tour at Arochukwu stadium, telling him to hide his face in shame and ask for forgiveness from his constituents over alleged poor performance as a senator.
He also urged the former lawmaker to stop behaving like a sitting senator.
The special adviser to Hon. Chukwu on Media and Publicity, Johnson Timmy Chinedu in a chat with ABN TV on Friday expressed regret over a comment attributed to the former senator in which he allegedly said the Abia Assembly member is ignorant of how the legislature works.
He urged Sen. Ohuabunwa to stop behaving like a serving senator, saying he failed to touch the lives of the people of Abia North as a senator.
The lawmaker stated that Sen. Ohuabunwa did not attract any other development in the senatorial district apart from the stadium he built in Arochukwu, insisting that he impoverished the people.
While accusing the former federal lawmaker of receiving over 25 percent of the fund meant for the construction of the Item/Ugwueke road and refused to do any job at the site, Hon. Chukwu also advise him to mobilize his contractors back to site and commence work immediately.
Hon. Chukwu accused Sen. Ohuabunwa of constructing only one borehole in Bende and one health centre in Ozuitem, adding that he was in the habit of abandoning projects.
He threatened to write a petition to EFCC over the collection of over N500m by Ohuabunwa for the construction Item/Ugwueke road by Sen. Ohuabunwa without embarking on construction.
The Abia lawmaker said Sen. Ohuabunwa failed to justify the confidence of the people when they massively voted for him in 2015, accusing him of failure to empower the youths of the senatorial district.
He challenged Ohuabunwa to give evidence of one person he empowered while he was a senator and the chairman, Senate committee on Primary Healthcare, describing his tenure as not impactful.
Meanwhile, efforts made to reach the former Senator representing Abia North, Sen. Mao Arukwe OHUABUANWA proved abortive.
