The Senate Chief Whip, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu has called on Nigerians to imbibe the spirit of love and brotherliness in their political dealings, saying it is the only way Nigeria can move forward.
He made this call while addressing leaders of APC in Abia North as part of efforts to unite the party in the senatorial district.
The Senator expressed regret that religious and ethnic differences still take a toll on the development of the country, saying hatred is an enabler of under development.
“You cannot equate people by the church they go, by their religious belief, by their political party affiliation. Equate people by the love you give each other and that’s the only way Nigeria can move forward.
“So stop hatred. That is the worst thing to do. It’s what caused problem in Rwanda. Rwanda fought a war nobody believed but today they are a great nation because they have realized themselves. So you people should remove hatred among political partners, hatred among religious beliefs, hatred among brothers and sisters, hatred among village and village and imbibe love so that we can move forward.
“You people can learn a lot from me. People who have wronged me, people who have done all kinds of things against me, I paid them back with love” he said.
The former governor who said he is not at war with anyone added he gives all glory to God for what he is today.
