The police has arrested Onyinye Mbadike, a 24-year-old single lady who was caught on camera locking a young boy in a cage harbouring fierce dogs.
Bala Elkana, Lagos State Police public relations officer, made this known in a statement released on Thursday.
Contrary to reports that the incident took place in Nsukka, a town in Enugu state, the crime occurred in Aguda, Lagos.
Dolapo Badmus, who is the PRO for Zone 2 Police Command, said the boy who is an orphan has been taken to a secured shelter.
“The Gender Unit traced the suspect to Chumpe Liquor Store, Surulere and her residence at Aguda,” the statement read.
According to the police, the boy is Mbadike’s cousin.
The woman will be charged to court tomorrow – Friday, 16th August. Today, she engaged a law firm for her defence. Though the law firm is a friendly law firm to CRACO, but we shall work with Lagos State Government to ensure the little boy gets Justice.
