ABIA – The Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Umuahia, Abia State headed by Justice Ilori Akintoya, today Sunday September 8, 2019 in a unanimous decision affirmed the victory of Hon. Uko Nkole, member representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency in the February 2019 National Assembly election.
The court also dismissed the petition filed by the All Progressives Congress( APC) candidate, Mr. Nnamdi Iro Oji challenging Hon. Nkole’s victory for lacking merit.
Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), had declared Hon Nkole, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as winner of the February 23, 2019 House of Representatives election for Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal constituency.
He polled 5723 votes to defeat Mr. Nnamdi Iro Oji of APC, who scored 5496 votes to emerge second in the election.
