Hon. Uko Nkole, the member Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency has declared that the Federal Polytechnic Abiriba, Abia state will go a long way in addressing the inequality against the state as one of the states without a federal polytechnic.
In a chat with ABN TV on Thursday, Nkole said the Bill for the establishment of the polytechnic though has fully passed all the legislative procedures in the 8th Assembly but could not get presidential assent as a result of paucity of time.
He declared that the Bill has been committed to the relevant committee for reconciliation as a matter of procedure and given life for expeditious presidential assent, maintaining that the House sees it as a Bill that will go a long way in addressing some imbalances against the state.
While appealing for public support in ensuring that the Bill receives presidential assent, he reiterated that at a moment when there is a strong perception of unfair treatment against the South East in general, this Bill will serve as a shining point for Buhari to prove otherwise.
He appealed to all Abians to give governor Ikpeazu all the necessary support in ensuring that Abia gets its fair share in the projects executed by the NDDC across the region.
On the recent death of his father, while expressing sadness over the incident, he expressed gratitude to God that his father, Chief Emmanuel Uko Nkole lived a fulfilled life and helped in raising people and his community.
