Ikpeazu commences inspection of business premises January

The Abia state Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu will commence the inspection of business premises in Abia State to ensure conformity with acceptable quality standards with effect from January 15, 2020,

This is contained in a statement signed by the Director General Abia State Marketing and Quality Management Agency, Sam Hart, Esq. on Monday.

According him, this is in furtherance of the mandate given to the Agency by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu.

Some of the assessment parameters include:

·Neatness and Orderliness of Business Environment
·Fire and other Emergency Safety Measures in place
·Normal and Harmful Waste Management Policy
·Quality of Goods and Services
·Quality of Local and Imported Raw Materials in use
. Proper licensing and registration with relevant State and Federal Government Agencies
·Noise and other Environmental Pollution
·Security Measures in place
·General Quality Management Policy in place.

He also added, “The Agency will, at the end of the Quality Inspection, issue an Abia State Quality Standards Certificate to Business Premises that meet the required standards and Abia State Seal of Quality to Certified Products while those that fail to meet the standard will carry out recommended adjustments within a given time to forestall further action.

“The general public is by this announcement, put on notice and urged to cooperate with officials of the Agency whenever they come for the inspection”.
