A chieftain of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) in Abia state, Sir Chikwe Udensi has accused the ruling party in the state of being in a panic mood following what he described as its impending defeat in the 2019 gubernatorial election.
Reacting to the judgment of the Supreme Court that affirmed Chief Victor Ike Oye as the authentic National Chairman of the party, the Abia governorship hopeful told Abia Breaking News that the party is poised to sacking the PDP led government in Abia, insisting that the party has failed in delivering dividends of democracy to the people of Abia.
“From today, that seat belongs to APGA. There is no doubt about that. We will throw PDP away come 2019. We are not talking of victory because Abians are fed up with PDP and their monumental failure. What we are talking about is protecting our votes from those who have been stealing our mandate for long” he said.
On how to enlarge the membership base of the party in Abia, Sir Udensi said the party has commenced a door to door campaign in the state, describing APGA as the soul of Igbo man.
Sir Udensi noted that APGA has been winning over the years in Abia and other states but decried that the party has not done much in ensuring that the mandate of the people stands through protecting their votes.
“Now that this Supreme Court Judgment has put the fifth columnists who claim to be members of the party in disarray, the party can now fully dissipate its energy on how to rescue Abia from the shackles of those who have failed to provide leadership in the state. We in APGA, our problem is not winning election because we have always won. Our victory always get truncated by those who want to perpetuate themselves in office through the back door.
“We will stop at nothing to ensure that we throw PDP out of government in Abia. They have shown they don’t have what it takes to take Abia out of doldrums” he said.
He also appealed to members of the party who may be aggrieved to come back to the main fold of the party to enhance its fortune come 2019.
The Interpol consultant congratulated the National Chairman of the party Chief Victor Ike Oye for the victory and expressed optimism that APGA will take over the government in the entire South East zone and beyond in 2019.
